Street Photography

Assignment #5: According to a photographer, Eric Kim, street photography documents everyday life and society. Rather than going to the city, I wanted to capture everyday life near me. I went to San Mateo and walked around with my camera. I have to admit that doing this was hard for me. I feel awkward carrying my camera around with me and taking photos of people. For the first thirty minutes of trying to accomplish this, I feel like I missed so many great photographs because I was nervous of people looking at me. After these thirty minutes, I started to get the hang of it and found areas where people could not see me (creepy I know). By doing this, I did not disrupt the people walking by and made the street photography more of a candid photo. My theme throughout my photos was people/items on the street doing their everyday life. I used both color and black and white. In this photo, there was a green bike next to a yellow fire hydrant. I thought both of the colors were really br

Chair Photos

Here are all of the chair photos that I took over Thanksgiving break. I really like this idea and I think my favorite photos are the first three. I am not a huge fan of the Christmas trees one. I might re-take them. My camera was acting weird and it was dark so the photos did not turn out that good. If I end up doing the underwater Concentration, then I could put one of these photos in my breath. I was maybe thinking of putting the second on in Scholastic? My other ideas for the chair: - On the beach (Maybe Baker's Beach) - In the city with people walking by --> doing a long exposure - Near a bunch of cars and get light trails I also took this photo at the Christmas tree place and I really like it. There is no chair though...

Concentration Test

These are the photos that I tried out. I like the second one better. I thought the paper floating around was cool, but it is hard since the book disintegrates. I also need to have her sitting in a chair so it makes it more realistic. I need to think of a re-occurring theme in each photo so it shows a story.
