I took a photo of a sunset and put it in photoshop. I created an oval and made the outside of the oval darker to give it the vignette effect. The outcome was expected. I somewhat like this effect but I probably wouldn't use it on a photo like this. Their example has a person in the middle and nothing on the outside. This photo has a lot going on in the sky and their isn't really a main focus. I would tell the tutorial to explain what I said above to somewhat give the reader a heads-up. This does make a really cool effect but there should not be a lot going on in order for it to work.
